Bridge of Mystery: This was a bridge I found on a hike to Lena Lake in Olympic National Forest. The way the light caught the leaves and moss on the left made it seem mysterious or magical. The river that the bridge was built for had dried up so I got down into the bed of it and took some shots of the underside of the bridge. Those turned out terrible. Fortunately, this one ended up pretty decent with the post processing effects I applied. The original file can be found here. Best on black. Buy a print. #66 in interestingness for 1/20/07

fetopher said: Thanks for the kind words everyone. @krobbie: Olympic National Forest is very beautiful. I spent most of my time in the north region near Port Angeles. Next time I'd like to head into the rain forest area on the west side. I can't believe how diverse the beauty is in one forest. @captainogilvy: No it's not an HDR image. Of course HDR is really just expanding the tonal range of an image... and I did do that... but using one exposure. So really, no, it's not an HDR image. @januszl: Thanks for the invite!
